What we will achieve:
1) Raise awareness of the Existence Value of Hong Kong’s unique ecology, environment and living heritage, particularly as found on Lantau Island.
2) Demonstrate how Lantau should be a destination attraction in its own right.
3) Address ecological voids in Hong Kong’s educational system and provide an enjoyable, hands-on experience in learning all about Hong Kong’s natural world.
4) Promote Lantau’s living curriculum as resource for learning.
5) Open up the minds of young and old to Hong Kong’s ecology.
6) Facilitate appreciation for and protection of our natural environment, ecosystems, and cultural heritages and to preserve them for future generations.
7) Educate and communicate, and thus be a catalyst for positive change.
8) Juxtapose our concrete city with a rural showcase for the natural environment of Hong Kong.
9) Demonstrate the symbiotic and essential relationships of man with nature and the ecosystem.
10) Foster community based tourism and ecotourism for the benefit of the local populace.
11) Promote responsible management for Hong Kong’s natural resources.
12) Developing a dynamic model for the sustainable and commericially successful development of Lantau.
13) Reach out into the wider international community to share knowledge and expertise gained in the process.
14) Revitalise Lantau as one of Hong Kong’s last remaining wild places and preserve its culture and heritage.
